I started phase 3 today. First thing I ate? Hummus! I made hummus. It was delicious. I admit I missed dipping a pita chip into it. I stocked up on instant potatoes, sugar free/low fat pudding, yogurt. I also stopped by Costco and bought some protein drinks. I've been craving protein. These babies are going to give me 30 grams of protein and a lot of the iron, calcium, and other vitamins and minerals my body has been craving the past 4 weeks. I'll drink one of these a day.
I've been able to find quite a few Lap Band blogs and sites that have some great recipes for all the different phases. I think having some variety and learning to cook in a new way is going to be my saving grace. I love to cook, so learning some new recipes will be fun. A few recipes that I'm excited to try are: avocado hummus, black bean hummus, "skinny" egg salad.
